A view of tradition through the musicians and communities who inherit it, reshape it and pass it forward.
The story
Legacy asks what is truly passed on when music travels from one generation to another. The answer is more than repertoire: it includes ways of listening, phrasing, gathering, remembering and creating together.
The project considers tradition as an active relationship between people — never frozen, never owned by one moment, and renewed whenever musicians bring their own lives to the language they have inherited.
The music
The work places individual traditional voices within a large orchestral frame while preserving the flexibility and exchange on which the music depends. New composition grows from that same language rather than standing apart from it.
